Description of the 1988 - 1994 Lincoln Continental Air Suspension
This Lincoln Continental Air Suspension System incorporates air leveling
and dual ride control into one air suspension system. Air leveling maintains
the vehicle at the proper level under varying operating conditions. Dual
damping ride control switches the shock absorbers between soft and firm on
the Lincoln Continental.
Air suspension components include:
1. An air compressor to supply air to the air struts
2. Variable rate air struts which are integral with the shock absorber
struts at each corner
3. Three rotary height sensors: One rear and two front to maintain proper
height
4. Dual damping front and rear shock absorber struts with externally mounted
actuators
