Description of the 1995 - 1996 Lincoln Continental Air Suspension
The 95-96 Lincoln Continental Air Suspension System is unique several ways. The
front air suspension is comprised of an electronic strut with an air spring
positioned on top. Thisair spring is removeable unlike anyother
Lincoln Continental Air Suspension previously available. The air suspension
system incorporates air leveling and dual ride control into one air suspension
system. Air leveling maintains the vehicle at the proper level under
varying operating conditions. Dual damping ride control switches the
shock absorbers between soft and firm. ThisLincoln air suspension
system has three settings on the dash: Plush, Medium, and FIrm so the
driver can select the ride he prefers.
The air suspension system includes the following major compoents:
1. An air compressor to supply air to the air strut and air spring
2. Variable rate air spring and air strut which are integral with each
other
3. Three height sensors: One rear and two front
4. Dual damping front and rear air spring and strut with externally mounted
autuators
